YMOS runs a series of Birding Trips throughout the year in addition to those that might be offered by the local chapters. These trips are always listed and coordinated on the YMOS Facebook page as well as listed on this website. For each trip we need parents that can drive. Parents and family members are always welcome. Binoculars and field guides can always be provided for participants. For additional information, contact George Radcliffe at

These trips are open to any young birders in Maryland. They are led by George Radcliffe, Youth Birding Coordinator for MOS , Dr. Wayne Bell, and Stacy Epperson. George taught middle school science for 38 years and has led youth birding teams to the World Series of Birding for the past 17 years. Wayne is a Professor at Washington College and the past President of the college’s Center for Environment and Society. Wayne is also the past president of the Maryland Ornithological Society (MOS). Stacy works for DNR and has been assisting for several years.
